A Joanna area man is facing multiple drug charges from Clinton Public Safety and the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office, after being brought to Clinton from Greenwood by Public Safety Officers last Friday.
Clinton has charged 27-year-old Mykel Matthew Jacks of 8954 Highway 56 South, Kinards with charges from the fall of 2011 and spring of 2012.
Lt. Terrance Harvard states in Warrants that on October 1st, 2011 MyKel Jacks committed a 2nd offense of Driving under Suspension of his Drivers’ License. Jacks was also charged with Disregarding a Stop Sign, a Seat Belt Violation and having Slick Tires on that date.
Clinton Public Safety charges Distribution of Crack Cocaine 3rd Offense and Distribution within Proximity of a School in the spring of 2012. Detective Tyrone Goggins states that on March 27th Mykel Jacks sold crack cocaine to an informant of Clinton Public Safety on Walden Street, within a half mile of Bell Street Middle School.
Meanwhile, the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office has charged Mykel Jacks with Distribution of Crack Cocaine from last summer. Deputy Matt Veal states that MyKel Jacks sold crack cocaine to a confidential informant working with the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office August 23rd, 2012. Bonds set included $60,000 on the Crack Cocaine Distribute charges and $15,000 on the Distribution within Proximity.
Mykel Matthew Jacks remained in the Johnson Detention Center this morning.
